Canyon Kids – Slither and Hiss
Join JSU 场学校 Staff the first Thursday each month for Canyon Kids. Catching a fish on a hand tied fly that you tied can be an extremely rewarding experience! 学习 the art of tying fishing flies with Dr. 蒂姆Lindblom. Join us for hands on instruction to tie highly effective flies for local bass and bream and how to catch fish with the flies you tied.

Each participant will create their very own flies to take home or trade. Be sure to join us in the spring for Fly Fishing 101 to make your fist catch! Guided Archaeology Tour of Dekalb and Cherokee Counties
Come along with JSU archaeologist Dr. Harry Holstein for a guided tour throughout Cherokee and DeKalb counties. Participants will be shuttled in a JSU van as we learn about the history of DeKalb and Cherokee Counties, visit the 19th century Cornwall Iron Furnace, a Spanish contact site at Coosa village, a rock shelter in use as early as 3000 B.C.，以及更多. DIY Ceramic Ornament Workshop
Join artist Jessica Haigh of Animal House Pottery for a Ceramic Ornament Workshop at the 小河峡谷中心! Create your own custom Christmas Ornament Set!
Students will learn how to handle the clay and the process of turning "dirt" into a beautiful ornament. Participants will receive the clay and supplies to make 6 – 8 Christmas ornaments each. Each ornament can be customized with all types of designs, shapes, and colors.
Once class is completed each ornament will go through a firing process and will be available for pickup by December 8th. You will not be able to leave with your ornament set; however, once complete you will have a special Christmas ornament set that will last a lifetime with proper care.
